Martin - Yvonne
In loving memory and with true sadness the family of Yvonne Martin must announce that Yvonne passed away peacefully after a long battle for her health on Tuesday March 30th. Yvonne was a passionate spouse, sister, Aunt and friend. She leaves behind to mourn her partner in love and in life Greg (Hobbs), her sisters Jean Mahoney (Frank), Marie Rose Marleau (Jean), Marie Champagne (Ron), Cecile Pigeon (Maurice); her brothers Jean Paul (Rita), Jean Baptiste (Diane), Fernand, Andre, Roger, Richard (Nicole Miner), Pierre (Linda) and each of their respective families as well as the families of brothers Jean-Marie (Audrey), Francois (Cau Cau), Joseph (Lucille) and Louis-Marie (Beverly), who predeceased Yvonne. She also leaves to mourn Greg’s family who always viewed Yvonne as a daughter, sister & Aunt; Janet Hobbs, David Hobbs and Andrea McCormick, Karen and Ron Cronier and their family as well as Judy and Mike McAuliffe. She counts among her very close friends Laura Behm, Lise Latreille, Laurie Nicholas and Debbie Vadneau and has always held a special place in her heart for Cameron Ross who she loved.
Yvonne loved life. In many ways Yvonne was larger than life. She flourished when she was with other people and so this past year has been particularly difficult for Yvonne. She was an avid Gardiner, a gourmet cook, a stained glass artist, a fashionista and she loved spending time walking her precious dogs. Most recently Boucane and Billy were the canines who were lucky enough to have her as their “Mom”.
Yvonne had a long and very successful career in the Federal Public Service and was very proud to declare much of her career was spent with colleagues at the Sir Charles Tupper Building on Riverside Drive.
A private celebration of Yvonne’s life will be held at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes on Tuesday August 24th at 1 PM where we can gather to share our thoughts and memories of how Yvonne touched our lives. Registration for the service is required. Please scroll below to R.S.V.P.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Ottawa Humane Society or BARK (Bytown Association for Rescued Kanines) would be greatly appreciated.
