At the age of 80, surrounded by the love and care of her children and grandchildren, Xiomara Claudina López Rodríguez died in the evening of January 26, 2021 in Oakville, Ontario.
After 7 years of separation with the love of her life, Jean-René, they are finally reunited. Together, they wrote the most beautiful love story.
The very example of determination, resilience, wisdom, and joy, Xiomara had a big heart and was, from a young age, a role model for family and friends. At work, she changed the lives of many for the better.
Aside from the infinite love she gave to her two children, Jean-René Jr. and Marie-Claude, Xiomara was like a mother for her siblings, nieces, and nephews. Likewise, her perseverance and devotion, made it possible to extend her husband’s life in the face of disease for a well-lived 28 years.
Xiomara epitomized the values of integrity and altruism, which, alongside her husband, she instilled in her children and grandchildren.
She was a woman of conviction, with a great sense of humour, an indefatigable worker, tirelessly neat, an avid reader, a talented writer, a music and nature lover, and an exceptional cook.
It is sad to see you go. Your life is plentiful of experience, stories and places, which thankfully you wrote in your memoir for us to enjoy. We will treasure this forever.
From your family and friends, we love you
