Wendell (Ken) Elliott
Passed away peacefully at the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital surrounded by family on May 12th in his 87th year. Survived by his loving wife Ruth (nee Reid), and dear father of Richard (Marlene), John, Michael, Kenneth (Jennifer), Wendy (Paul) and cherished `Grampy`of Tricia, Terry (Aneta), Amy (Billy), Jessie, Kelsey, Ryan, Emma, and Olivia. Great ‘Grampy’ to Alec, Anora, and soon to be born little Sadie. He's survived by brothers Ron and Clyde (Bonita) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Beatrice Elliott, and siblings Frank, Glynn, Areatha, and Doreen. Wendell enjoyed spending time with his family, he was an entrepreneur, and led an eventful life. He was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia where he grew up in the family business `Elliott`s Shows` then went on to open up Wendell's Diner. Eventually, he moved to Ottawa, Ontario where he worked at Simpson Sears automotive, operated two Elliott's Esso Service Centers, and invested in real estate. We wish to thank the doctors and the nurses at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital for their excellent care and support. Visitation will take place at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, (between Baseline Rd. and Bayshore Dr.) on Friday, May 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At his request there will be no service. In memory of Wendell, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute, the Ottawa Hospital-Civic Campus, or the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
