Wanda Maria Thomas

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wanda Maria Thomas (nee Dall’Acqua) on July 18, 2023, at the age of 96.  Born in Chioggia, Italy on May 23^rd, 1927, to Maritime Captain Ferruccio Dall’Acqua and Pietra Anna Skarpa, she left Italy for Canada in 1950.  Predeceased by her husband Clive, brother Ferruccio, sister Livia, and sister-in-law Patricia.  Wanda is survived by daughters Patricia, Barbara, Pamela, and Cynthia, loving brother Aldo, grand-daughters Kira and Marisa, niece Leslie Anne and nephew Michael.  Wanda was a dedicated mother who, in later years, worked for Sears Canada.  She was an athletic, intelligent, loving, vivacious, strong willed individual with impeccable style, an enduring love of her country of origin, and a passion for travel.  She will remain forever in our hearts and minds. 

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus who cared for Wanda in the last days of her life.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road, Ottawa (at Roosevelt) on Friday, July 28^th, 2023, at noon until time of service in the chapel at 2 p.m.  Reception to follow.
