Webb, Walter Edward
Peacefully on July 12, 2019 at age 95. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie Moore. Loving uncle of Linda Sine (Michael Mercier) and Paul Sine (Donna Stewart). Inspiring cousin of Tom Ray and dearest friend and companion of Betty Campbell. During World War II, Walter served with the RCAF in England. In 1950 he graduated from McGill University with a degree in civil engineering. He then devoted the majority of his career to the planning, construction and operation of the St. Lawrence Seaway as well as consulting on the 3-Gorges Dam Project in China.
He was a very special man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road (at Roosevelt), Ottawa on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1 p.m. A reception will follow. Walter will be buried in Montreal at a later date. Memorial donations to Unitarian House or the Alzheimer Society are appreciated.
