It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Viola Grant at the age of 92. Viola passed peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. She was born in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia. She was a beloved widow to Donald Alton Grant; mother to her three children, Leah, Sylvia and Bruce; grandmother to Lana, Jayme (Pete) and Karik; and great-grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren, Noah, Nathaniel, Anna and Eli.
Viola had a way of understanding people and showing the most genuine admiration for their talents. She was the perfect harmony of a social butterfly and a sound listener. Her advice always wise and never unwanted. Viola’s greatest love in life was her family. She was always “home”. Viola was the definition of selfless, always giving everything to everyone and never asking for a thing in return.
Viola will always be cherished in the hearts of her family, and she will live on through the strongest form of love one can have for another - unconditional love. Never changing, forever unwavering and endless for all time.
"God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So, he put His arms around you and whispered, 'Come to Me.'"
Please consider a donation in Viola’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
