On November 2nd of this year, we lost Vernon Leopold Roy, 91. He passed peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa with his loving wife and daughter at his side. He leaves behind wife Eileen (nee Keall), daughter Kim Berger, daughters Barbara LaPalme and Bonnie Ethier, son Douglas Lidstone, sons-in-law Jeff Berger, Eric Ethier and James LaPalme. Also grandchildren Angela Ethier, Kira Berger, Cody Ethier, Jayde LaPointe, Elizabeth LaPalme and Isabella LaPalme. A lifelong Sudbury resident, Vern moved to Ottawa in his last year of life to be close to his many family members in Kanata. Vern was a veteran of both World War 2 and the Korean War and a long time member of both The Legion and War Pensioners of Canada.
