Valerie Jean (Edwards) Porteous

March 14, 1938 – January 31, 2022

It is with great sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Valerie Porteous on January 31, 2022, at the age of 83. She is survived by her two loving sons, Mike Latimer (Mary Ann Latimer) and Jeff Latimer (Shannon LaBelle), and her beloved sister Candice Jeanneault (Robert Jeanneault). She was predeceased by her husband Orville Porteous, as well as her siblings Bill, Joe, and Maureen.

Valerie was a fierce and generous woman who loved music, dancing, ceramics, and long drives to nowhere. But nothing was more important to her than family, particularly her grandchildren Tasha Latimer (Cutler Coughtrey), Josh Gibeault, Jesse Latimer (Courtney Brown), Hannah Latimer, Sam Latimer, Maddy O’Neill, and Lexi O’Neill. She also spoke fondly of her amazing friends, including the gang from Carling Avenue and her new friends and staff at Wildpine Residence. She will be forever missed and in our hearts. A private service will be held at a later date.
