Stanutz - Timothy Robert John
May 24, 1959 – May 15, 2017
Timothy Stanutz, passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2017 in his 58 th year. Born in Kirkland Lake, Tim devoted his life to pursuing his passion for music to become an excellent double bass musician. He earned a B.A. in Music (Jazz) from St.F.X.U. (1985) and a specialized music teaching degree from Western U. (1986). He enjoyed a fulfilling 30-year-long career teaching music at Bell High School. From the professional relationships he formed with his colleagues, to the annual showcases he directed, and the thousands of students he mentored, Tim's immense impact can never be forgotten. Throughout his career he won numerous awards. These include awards for excellence in teaching from Carleton University (1999) and OCDSB (2011). He inspired and impacted many local musicians through his contribution to open mic nights at Creekside Bar & Grill. Tim was a loving and caring husband to his wife of 32 years, Sandy (Bailey) and devoted father to his children, Max, Anna, Bailey and Luke. Tim will also be deeply missed by his mother Eleanor (late Spencer); his siblings Mike (Barbara), Roxanne (John), Kelly (George), Colin (Leone); his nieces and nephews Hannah and Spencer Jr., Alex and Amber, Zachary, Kaileyn and Kieran. The funeral Service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 1138 Bridge St., Manotick, on Thursday, May 25 th at 1:00 p.m. Greet the family at the reception after the service.
