Timothy David Errol Fauquier, known as ‘Tim’, passed away in Ottawa on August 1, 2022. Tim leaves his best friend, advocate and wife Edie, his two children, Christopher and Tessa, along with four grandchildren, Noah, Gavin, Andreas and Lara. He is also survived by his brothers, Chris, and Greg.
Tim was a well-respected Principal at the Auditor General’s Office and served as Canada’s representative at the International Board of Auditors for NATO in Brussels, followed by a long career at the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank in Washington, DC.
In 2006 Tim suffered a paralyzing bout of Guillain-Barre Syndrome. With the support of his wife Edie and his own tenacity, Tim rebounded to better health. Tim’s determination and hard work, along with the invaluable help of his personal trainer Ryan, at the Jewish Community Centre gym, resulted in his being able to walk again.
Tim journeyed through life with a strong will, grace, humour and a twinkle in his blue eyes. He had passion, enthusiasm, and the natural ability to inspire everyone around him. Admired for his courage, he was a fighter for rights, health and life.
His incredible love of reading and his interest in language, history and culture was a huge part of every aspect of his life.
And optimism was something he had in abundance —the legacy he left to all of us.
A commemoration of Tim’s life will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, on Sunday, August 28th, 2022, from 2 to 4pm with words of remembrance being held at 3 p.m. For those unable to attend in person, the words of remembrance will be live streamed and can be viewed by scrolling below. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the GBS/CIDP Foundation of Canada. Website: https://www.gbscidp.ca
