It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of Thomas Patrick Laframboise on December 5, 2018 following a tragic accident on December 1, 2018.
Thomas will be deeply missed by his devoted and beloved wife of 60 years Isabel (Teske), the jewel of his heart whose constant love and care kept him strong each day. He will be sadly missed by his son Hugh (Shelley), daughter Karen, and son David (Isabelle). His grandchildren, four of the brightest lights in his life, Leslie, Brendan, Alyssa and Emma, will profoundly miss their Papa. He relished in hearing about what was happening in their lives and sharing stories with them of his past adventures.
Born in Buckingham, Quebec, on March 12, 1929, he was predeceased by his father Hugh and mother Beatrice (nee Dwyer), his sisters Dorothy (late Eymard D'aoust), Mary Elizabeth "Molly", his brothers Michael (late Bertha Thompson), William "Bill", and John, his father-in-law Francis Teske, mother-in-law Marion, brother-in-law Leslie Teske, Leo Teske and sister-in-law Bernadette Woods (nee Teske). Thomas will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, as well as his sister-in-law Jacqueline "Jackie" Gosselin (late Bill) and his brother-in-law Thomas Woods (late Bernadette Teske). Thomas will be missed by his many friends, acquaintances, and business associates.
Thomas was a proud and successful businessman for over 60 years, who believed that success came from hard work and strong family values. Thomas loved to travel. He and Isabel were fortunate enough to have visited many countries throughout the world during their 60 years together. Thomas loved nothing more than planning their next trip together. Thomas was an avid reader. He valued keeping up on current affairs. He loved nothing more than a good political debate or reading a historical fact-based book. Thomas also enjoyed giving back to his community. For over 58 years he was an active member of the Buckingham Lions Club and was awarded a Lifetime Membership in May 1990. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was a man of strong faith and believed that Sunday was a day of rest. The family cottage at Long Lake in Mayo, QC was a place where Thomas loved to be; he enjoyed chatting with anyone who stopped in for a visit. There was nothing he enjoyed more than sitting on his lawn chair and watching the activity on the lake while the dogs played at his feet.
The family wish to express a sincere thank you to the medical staff in the Hull Hospital Intensive Care Unit, especially to Kate who always brought a smile to his face.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Cadieux Tubman Funeral Home in Buckingham, Quebec on Thursday December 20, from 7 pm to 9 pm. Funeral service to be held on Friday, December 21st at Our Lady of Victory Church, 490 Rue Charles, Gatineau, QC at 11:00 am.
In memoriam donations, in lieu of flowers, to the Buckingham Hospital Foundation, Hull Hospital Intensive Care Unit or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
