Sylvia Lenore Smith

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Lenore Smith, peacefully at age 87, after a long illness. Lenore was predeceased by her parents Sylvia and William Hodgman.

Lenore is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Fraser, and was much loved by her children Ian (Vicky), Bruce, David (Nicole), and Nancy (James). Lenore was a devoted wife and mother and thought of her wonderful family as her greatest achievement.

Cherished grandmother of Eric, David, Laura, Rebecca, Victoria, Willow, and Sarah, and great-grandmother of Warren and Emily.

Lenore graduated as a Registered Nurse from Victoria Hospital Nursing School in London, Ontario, but devoted most of her life to caring for her family. She was a passionate bridge player, dog lover, and cook. Lenore also dedicated her time volunteering in the community and at the Civic Hospital.

As per Lenore’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Canada or the Royal Ottawa Foundation in memory of Lenore are appreciated by the family.
