Sylvester Xavier de Souza died peacefully on December 11, 2020, surrounded by family.  Beloved husband of Betty (deceased), retired teacher of the Ottawa Separate School Board, much loved son of the late Sebastian and Luizinha, cherished and loving father of Eleanor and Selwyn, of Ottawa, and Stephen (Sherry) of Arizona, proud grandpa of Sophia, Alexander and Genevieve.  He was a retired auditor of the Office of the Auditor General from 1968 till 1995.  Thanks to all family and friends for all their prayers and support over the years, all the nurses and PSWs of the Westwood Retirement Home for their compassion and care for the past 3 years.  The funeral will take place at a later date to be determined.  Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to Saint Basil’s Church, 940 Rex Ave, Ottawa, K2A 2P7.  Tributes, condolences, and donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
