Susan passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 6th 2015 and will be sadly missed by many. Those who knew her will feel an immense loss in their daily lives but also have a heart filled with beautiful memories of a kind and loving woman who has led an inspiring life. Susan leaves behind her daughter Jennifer Stewart (Carol Secord) and her three grandchildren Neve, Andrew and Quinn. The kids gave her so much joy and happiness and they will miss their "Baba", not to mention the chocolate bars that she very generously supplied! Susan will be missed by her younger brother Martin Gross. She leaves us to join her cherished parents, Herbie and Jennie Gross as well as her sister Patricia Whelan and brother Allan Gross. Susan had many close friends who will miss her dearly, including Tom Campbell, Susan Edwards and Gloria Prendergast. She touched many lives in her time as a Nurse at the Civic Hospital, where she also graduated from Nursing School. She was a Nurse in the Dialysis Unit at the end of her career and was passionate and proud of her work. Following a tragic auto accident in 1993, Susan's life took a much different path than planned. She was always an inspiration with her tenacity and fiery spirit and was a true example of someone striving to reach their goals, regardless of how impossible they sometimes seemed. She made a lovely home at the Colonel By Residence and enjoyed a view of the canal from her balcony. Special thanks to her Colonel By "family" who meant so much in the recent years. Donations in Susan's name are welcomed by the Brain Injury Association of the Ottawa Valley www.biaov.org Friends are invited to visit at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue (East of Vanier Parkway), on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 2pm , followed by a fabulous party to celebrate this amazing person. A variety of chocolate bars will be served.
