Wurzler, Attum Stephany “Stephanie”

Suddenly at home on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the age of 49. Beloved mother of Ella Wurzler-Szaraz and deeply loved by her friend and partner Rick Bloom.  Cherished daughter of Hanni and the late Reinhold Wurzler.  Dear sister of twin brothers Jorg (Diane McLoughlin) and Andy (Jane Currie).  Stephanie will be deeply missed by Rick, her family and her many, many friends and her community.

Stephanie’s dad came to Canada in 1961 from West Germany to find work and Hanni and the boys followed shortly afterward when they were 6 months old.  They then moved to Zambia in Africa for her dad’s work.  They then transferred to South Africa for Stephanie’s birth.  Hanni made the journey back to Canada with Stephanie when she was only a few months old.  Her dad and brothers followed them back 6 months later.

She decided on a career in veterinary care and became a Veterinary Assistant.  During the COVID outbreak, she started working at Stonecrest Public School where she worked with the younger children who all loved her.  She loved working at Stonecrest and found this job rewarding.  She loved travelling and tending to wildlife in a way that rippled through the community and impacted all that encountered her.  She loved her friends with a passion and an openness that drew many to her and is too numerous to mention.  Her most cherished accomplishment was to become the mother of her beautiful daughter Ella.
