Stephanie Harris-Lalonde

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Stephanie Harris-Lalonde on April 20 th , 2015; beloved best friend and wife of Robi Lalonde, cherished mother of Samuel, Emilie and Joseph. Stephanie was pre-deceased by her father, Blake Harris. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Marlene Harris; her mother-in-law, Terri Lalonde; her sister and kindred spirit, Suzanne Ruttan (Randy); her brothers, Jeffrey Harris, Craig Harris (Maureen) and Mark Harris (Jenepher); her sister-in-law, Judi Lalonde and her brother-in-law, Michel Lalonde (Ginette). Stephanie will also be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews (Harris, Jakob, Ewan, Aidan, Maddy, Leon, Liam, Viriginie, Meghan, Éliane, Dominque, Alex, Benjamin and Patrick) and many friends, including the Women of Honahlee. Stephanie graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Honours) and a Master's Degree in Public Administration. After being a stay-at-home-mom during Samuel, Emilie and Joseph’s early years, Stephanie re-entered the workforce and held numerous positions in the private and public sectors. Most recently, she worked for almost 15 years with the Department of Foreign Affairs. She thrived in this stimulating and dynamic environment, which allowed her to constantly learn, to contribute to foreign policy development and to travel the world. While Stephanie had a rewarding career, her cherished family was her deepest passion and the centre of her life. Stephanie was an intelligent, warm, caring and genuine person with an adventurous spirit. One of her proudest accomplishments was her 780km walk across the north of Spain and completion of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in 2011. A candlelight vigil for private reflections will be held at Merivale United Church from 7-9pm on Sunday, April 26th. This will be followed by a funeral service and reception at Merivale United Church on Monday, April 27th commencing at 2pm. We would respectfully request that due to the very limited seating in the church, the service be reserved for family and close friends only. Stephanie loved Church hymns, so please bring a strong and ready voice to the Service.
