Jamieson, James Stanley
A gentleman's gentleman was called to rest on April 1st in his 103rd year.
He leaves behind his much-loved family - wife Mavis, daughter Kathy (Dan Mottershead) and son Bruce (Julie Lockhart). He was a beloved Grandad to James and Thomas Mottershead and Uncle to many generations of nieces and nephews.
Born October 13, 1916, Stan grew up in Elmside, Quebec working on the family farm and at their general store. Called to play a part in World War II he was stationed in the UK with the Air Force. After the war he returned to work for the federal government where his career with Taxation Canada lasted over 30 years. Stan met Mavis soon after his return and together they raised their family in Ottawa and had over 70 years together. Stan and Mavis had a cottage at Norway Bay for over 50 years, frequently hosting friends and family including an annual family gathering.
The family are grateful for the wonderful care Stan received at the Perley-Rideau over the last four years by staff and private care-givers.
