Scott George Follis, a beloved member of the Ottawa community, passed away on June 1, 2024. For many days before his passing he was visited by many family and friends. He passed during the night at the Civic Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 75 years old.
Scott was known for his exceptional skills as "Mr. Fixall." He was a talented man, and his customers had a "Scott-to-do" list instead of a "Honey-to-do" list.
Scott's love for adventure led him to enjoy hobbies such as motorcycling on his Gold Wing, volunteering for the Ski Patrol in Calabogie, and participating in Search and Rescue missions in Castlegar. His adventurous spirit and willingness to help others defined him as a true hero in both his professional and personal life. In the last 8 years, Scott was a valued friend of Bill W.
Survived by his sons Jim Follis (Joanne Pawlowski), Alex Follis, daughters Tara Hills (Gavin Hills) and Meggan Larson (Rob Larson), brother Michael Follis (Judy Follis), sisters Jane Findley and Peggy Follis, as well as Deborah Follis (nee Thorp), numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Prostate Cancer Fund to honour Scott's memory.
A Memorial Service will be held on June 9 at 2:00 pm at Tubman Funeral Home - Garden Chapel located at 3440 Richmond Road in Nepean. An informal private gathering will follow after the service.
Scott George Follis will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his adventurous spirit and kind soul continue to inspire us all.
