Ruth Gertrude Parks

With profound sadness, our family announces the quiet passing of our beloved mother, Ruth Parks (nee Armstrong) in the early hours of August 7th, 2024, in her 98th year. She was born in Waweig, New Brunswick, August 16, 1926. 

Ruth is predeceased by her cherished husband Dick (Donald) and her grandson Matthew. She is survived by sisters Helen and Marguerite, sister-in-law Melva, her children Nancy (John Hauser), Bonnie, Brenda (Grant Wilson), Wendy (Andy Dupuis), David (Subin) and Pam (Rob Kerr). Her legacy is her precious 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren + 2 on the way. 

Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and gracious maritime nature touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who treasure the memories of her love, guidance, and unwavering support. May she rest in peace and may her embodiment of love and grace continue to inspire us all. 

To honour Ruth, put love out to the world with an act of kindness. Her last words to her family were “I love everybody. I just want there to be love in the world." 

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Ruth's life.
