Ross Armstrong

November 28, 1939 — September 4, 2023

Armstrong, Ross Silas

It is with profound sadness that the family of Ross Silas Armstrong announce his peaceful passing on Monday, September 4, 2023 at the age of 83.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years Doris Armstrong (Stacey); children Rhonda DiMarco (Louis) and Cindy Armstrong (Jason Fitzpatrick); grandchildren Brittany Gerald (Jay), Christopher McBurney (Natasha), Eric Armstrong, Tanner McBurney, Colin Armstrong (Amber Griffin), and Bailey McBurney; great grandchildren Olivia Gerald, Mya Gerald, Mason Armstrong, Airlie McBurney and Cruz McBurney; sister: Fern Colwell (Patrick). Predeceased by his brother Elgan Armstrong.

Ross was a very special man (raised by amazing parents – George and Edith Armstrong) and was extremely respected and loved by everyone who had the fortunate opportunity to know him.  His family meant everything to him, and he was the happiest when spending time with them.  He played a big part in every single family member’s life and was a true inspiration to all.  He was always the biggest supporter and the rock for everyone in his family and friend’s circle.  When he was happy (with his infectious belly laugh) then everyone was happy. We feel so grateful to have had as much time with him as we did and have many cherished memories over the years.  He will not only be remembered for his beautiful crafts and wood working (he never worked a day in his life as his work was his passion), his kind and genuine nature (and dry but witty sense of humour) but mostly how he was always giving to others unconditionally (which gave him the most pleasure in life).  He always said “GIVING IS THE ONLY TIME YOU WILL EXPERIENCE TRUE HAPPINESS”.

Special thanks to the ACE Unit and the Palliative Care Home Team for their amazing care and support.

A visitation will be held at Stonehaven Community Church, 2 Stonehaven Dr., Kanata, on Friday, September 15th from 1 pm until the Celebration of Life at 2 pm., followed by a reception.
