Wallace – Ronald Potter

1927 – 2021

Retired Principal, Former O.B.E.

Died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 2, 2021.  Ron was the dear husband of Margaret (Walkom), the loving father of Catherine, Joanne (Carlos Salas) and Jennifer (Joe Hill), and the proud grandfather of Andrew Hill.  He was predeceased by his parents Roy and Gladys (Potter) and sisters Helen Smith and Betty Carkner.

Ron attended Ottawa Normal School and taught in Brockville and Toronto. During those years he completed his B.A. (Queens).  He returned to Ottawa, where he taught, earned his M.Ed. (U. of O.) and was principal in several elementary schools.  Ron was respectful of, and respected by all, truly a “gentle - man”.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no service at this time. Special thanks to the wonderful home care team who made Ron’s final year comfortable in the home he loved.
