Ronald Stapledon

In hospital, on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Ron leaves us to join his beloved wife, of 69 years, Claire who predeceased him in March. Much loved father of the late David (1987), Pat Constantine (Larry), Sue Clost, and Nancy Golding (Patrick). Survived by his grandchildren, Adam, Ben, Cheyenne, Damion, Holly and Jessie and by several great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all, especially his feline friend and constant companion Tiger. Ron was a Veteran of the Second World War and longtime employee of External Affairs Passport Office and Diplomatic Corps with postings in France, Brazil and Australia. In retirement he was an active volunteer in the community and life member of the Canadian Legion. Friends may visit at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road, (at Roosevelt) on Thursday, October 17th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Legion Service will take place at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, October 18th at 11 a.m. Interment and reception to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
