Ron, 81 years-old, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in the early afternoon of December 18, 2015 at his home in Richmond, Ontario. In the hours and days before his last breath he was held and kissed by his beloved wife and children. After his initial battle with bladder cancer in 2011, Ron’s battle resumed in the spring of 2015 when he was diagnosed with liver cancer which eventually spread elsewhere. His love of life, family, friends and community carried him through many months of treatment. His unwavering resolve to live life to the fullest was an inspiration to all who knew him and was a testimony to the valiant effort in which he fought his illness. Loving only child of the late Norris S. Heinbuch and Doris C. (nee McCarthy). Soul mate and loving husband, for over 57 years, of Joanne (nee Caswell). Best Dad of Margaret Lynn Pickrell (Neil), Jill Heinbuch-LeDuc (Bill LeDuc), Steven (Tara), and Heather MacCuaig (James). Proud and cherished grandfather of Emmett, Wyatt, Harlan, Nathan, Tamara, Shelby, Conner, Logan and Abigail. Dear brother-in-law of the late Lois Williamson (Bob), Margie Marlatt (late Bruce), Bunny Sorley (Late Neil) and Crawford Caswell (Sharon). He will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Ron was a dedicated and highly valued employee of DelCan for 45 years. In his spare time, Ron combined his passion for interacting with others and his love of organizing into an unwavering involvement in several organizations including: Masonics – Bytown Lodge 721, Shriners – TTAF, Eastern Star, RCL Richmond Branch 625 and Kiwanis, many of which saw him as an active member for 35 plus years. He was a highly dedicated member of his community and the heart and soul of Hyde Park in Richmond. We would like to thank the following doctors; Girvan, Ong, Canil, Epen and all the cancer care people at both the General Hospital and Irving Greenberg Cancer Centre. A huge thank you to the RN’s, RPN’s and PSW’s from CCAC, Saint Elizabeth and We Care who cared for our loved one like he was their own.
