Gordon, Ronald "Ronnie"

April 15, 1936 - April 6, 2017

The angels rejoiced as they welcomed Ronnie into the Kingdom of Heaven. Left to mourn his passing is his adored wife of 52 years Reta (nee Kelly). His beloved son and daughter-in-law Billy(Susan) and his cherished friend Lex Byrd (Toronto). Predeceased by his parents William and Wilhelmina (nee Nixon) and dear brother Gary Gordon (Peggy). Ronnie was born and raised in Ottawa, in later years moved to the growing community of Manotick where he made many wonderful friends. He played in the Old Timers hockey league until he was 50 years of age. Ronnie had a passion for hockey and baseball, he was an avid Chicago Black Hawks and New York Yankees fan. Following his retirement after 35 years from the Department of National Defence-Construction/Engineering division he returned to live in Ottawa. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital- Neuro Sciences unit for the excellent care, compassion and dignity provided to Ronnie enabling him to cross over peacefully. A visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd, Ottawa (at Bayshore Drive) on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from noon until the time of service in the chapel at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family would be most grateful if donations were made to Jonathan Pitre "Butterfly Boy" at debracanada.org.

"Lord, when my last putt has dropped into the cup and the light of my day has faded, may I be able to turn in to you, a scorecard to show I did my best.”
