It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Charpentier at the Elisabeth Bruyere on December 12, 2013. Ron passed away peacefully after a courageous 6 year battle with a brain tumour. Loving husband and best friend of Lavena (Bender). Father of Ruth Lawrence, Shelley Bender, Dan, Cindy, Charlene, Michelle and Steven. Grandfather of 9 and great-grandfather of 3. Survived by brothers Bernard and Art and sisters Donna and Carol. Predeceased by his parents Ted and Lena and brother Teddy. Ron enjoyed a long career in the federal government at National Museums, DND and DSS. He will be fondly remembered by his best friend Marc and will be missed by his golf buddies. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Baseline and Bayshore Rd.) on Monday, December 16, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday, December 17 from 12 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa CyberKnife Fund, 737 Parkdale Ave, 1st Floor, Ottawa, ON K1Y 1J8 would be appreciated.
