Nicholson, Robert “Rob”
Robert “Rob” Nicholson died unexpectedly in Ottawa on Monday November 29th, 2021 at the age of 59.
Rob is survived by his beloved wife Malka Simon and his children, Heather and Hale Nicholson. He is also survived by his mother, Carole (Skinner) Nicholson, his father Robert (Bob) Nicholson (Debi); his beloved younger siblings: His sisters Kim (Tim), Lorelee and his brother Liam, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and a grand niece and nephew. Rob will be lovingly remembered by all his friends and colleagues.
His children will remember him fondly for his affectionate nicknames, Cape Breton and fatherly humour, and his passion for physical health, Marvel and Joss Whedon films (Firefly and Serenity most of all). He will be sorely missed as a bright presence at the GoodLife gyms in the Ottawa area; he leaves behind a training family who will miss his encouragement and positivity. As the former honorary president of the Ottawa Browncoats Society, he was involved in many charitable campaigns, including the Can’t Stop the Serenity movement which donated their proceeds to Equality Now.
