Robert (Bob) Morin
September 23rd, 1938 - May 20th, 2016
Vice-Pres. Henderson Furniture Repair

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob at home with his cherished family by his side, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. He held on to hope until the end. Bob was the soul-mate and husband to Colleen (Lusk). Loving and proud father to Michael (Shauna Love), and cherished and adored Papa to Cassandra Vincent Morin (Daniel Heroux). Bob is survived by his sister Theresa Burchill (Verne), brother - in-law to Dolly Morin, Bob and Ginette Lusk, Ron and Barb Lusk, Gord and Barb Lusk and Maggie and Ivan Listar. Bob was predeceased by his mother and step-father, Cecile and Harold McCabe, father Paul Emile, siblings Lillian, Charles, Gabrielle, Alice and Baby Monique. Mother and father-in-Law Yvonne and Bob Lusk. Bob was an uncle, great uncle, and great-great uncle to many nieces and nephews and a special friend to many. Bob was born and raised in Ottawa and strived and succeeded to be the best in whatever he chose to do. He was a true salesman and had successful careers in sales from wholesale lumber, office supplies and appliances. He retired from Sears Canada in 2002 after a very accomplished career of 25 years. Bob was honored many times for his successes. Sales over 1 million for numerous years. He was told he was the epitome of a salesman at his retirement. Bob loved to laugh and to tell a joke. His repertoire was quite extensive. In his younger days he enjoyed playing tennis and dancing every Saturday doing "The Sandy Hill Jive" and continued to amaze people throughout the years with his dancing skills. He coached Minor Hockey, was a member of the Civitan Club, enjoyed his weekly golf games and until he no longer had the strength bowled with Ottawa's "Oldest" Masse Bowling League. Bob loved to travel and explore the world. In recent years he travelled to Peru, where he climbed Machu Picchu and to Thailand. He will be missed by his travelling companion, Steve. He loved the Caribbean, Hawaii, and when asked recently he replied he never had a bad holiday. Bob payed it forward from an accident in 2002 and began to do volunteer work from 2003 - 2013 he volunteered and was pub Manager at the Perley Rideau Veterans Home. From 2003 - 2015 he was a Chef at the Shepherds of Good Hope. The Family would like to thank all of the Doctors and Nurses of the Ottawa Cancer Centre for their care and compassion. There are too many to mention, but a special thanks to Dr. Cripps, Dr. Froshal and all the Nurses of 5-East, General Hospital - Oncology. To CCAC and the team of Carefor Nurses and support staff. For all the phone calls - just to check in. Bob's wish was to be home and everyone made this possible and Dr. Paul Hacker, you are all the best. Bob's home was special and his "Bourbon Street" front patio is where he loved to sit and talk to people. Great friendships evolved and to quote a recent article in the Kitchissippi Times about him "This is the essence of Bob". To know Bob was to love him. He will be missed. Visitation will take place at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road, Ottawa on Tuesday, May 24th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at All Saints Anglican Church, 347 Richmond Road, Westboro on Wednesday, May 25th at 1:00 p.m. Donations to Shepherds of Good Hope would be appreciated. A needy cause close to his heart.
