Unexpectedly on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by his beloved and patient wife Marilyn (née Kelly). Son of the late Valéda (née Desjardins) and Alfred Peters. Cherished father of Anne, Bob (Tracey), John, Richard, and Stephen (Pam). Proud grandfather of Catherine (Bryan), Reilly, Finn and great-grandfather of Lachlan and Norah. Ray was a strong, silent man of surprising depth who gamely honoured his wife's desire to have the largest family possible. He is now where he has always belonged: at her side. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd. (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.), Nepean on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 15 Steeple Hill Crescent on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shepherds of Good Hope Foundation would be appreciated.
