Philip Kennedy

March 11, 1933 — July 10, 2024

Peacefully on Wednesday July 10, 2024, at the age of 91 surrounded by family. Beloved husband of 55 years to the late Shirley (nee Furrie). Born and raised in South March, Ontario, he attended Ottawa Technical High School. He worked for the federal government for 30 years at the National Printing Bureau in Hull until his retirement in 1988.

A fiercely loyal man, he had a large circle of long-time friends, and always enjoyed meeting new people. His interests included golf, curling, cross-country skiing, playing euchre with the Knights of Columbus, and going to Old Time Fiddlers’ dances. He was passionate about sports, particularly the Ottawa Rough Riders, the Montreal Expos, and the Ottawa Senators. He enjoyed summertime at cottages, family gatherings and barbecues, as well as family road trips. This included trips to Nashville, New York City, the U.K. and multiple trips to the west coast, the maritimes and to Florida.
