Redfern, Paul
Sept 19, 1956- May 9, 2022
Graced by his presence, cherished for his wit. It is with the greatest of sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Redfern, age 65 of Kemptville.
Paul passed peacefully in his 30th year of marriage with his eternally bonded loving wife, Wendy Redfern (Moyer) and daughter, Shannon Giust (Wilson) by his side. He will be missed greatly for his teenage like antics by his son-in-law, Paolo Giust and grandchildren, Bradley Shields, Joshua Shields, Amanda Giust (Matt Clusiau), and Christine Giust (Nick Foss).
Born as the youngest of three to Harold and Joan Redfern in Hertfordshire, England, they arrived as a family in Canada when Paul was just one. Growing up in Richmond, Ontario with his siblings he will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Anita Redfern (Paul Yendall) and the late John Redfern.
After 38 years of work and friendship in the road construction industry with Tarcon/RW Tomlinson he retired in 2018 to the Rideau River with his beloved dog, Sammy, by his side and Wendy soon to follow.
Paul’s love for the outdoors led him to such hobbies as camping, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and in his younger years, hours and hours of motorcycling riding on that Suzuki Katana. A few of his other passions included rock collecting, t-shirt collecting, hats and a love for taxidermy birds. Thankfully Wendy’s patience and love for Paul allowed him to continue to grow his collections. He loved and showed great respect for nature and animals. His compassion for life was treasured by those that knew him. Paul will always be remembered for his sense of humour, quick wit and loyal friendships.
Although we are better for having known him, he was taken too soon.
