It is with heavy hearts the family announces the peaceful passing of Paul Menard in Ottawa on October 15th, 2024. After a courageous battle with cancer, with family by his side, at the Ottawa General Hospital in his 69th year. Predeceased by parents Cecile Valiquette and Joseph Paul Moise Menard.
Left to mourn Paul are sisters Suzanne (Tim) and Carole (Richard) and brothers Andy (Sue), Michael and Peter. Predeceased by brother Gerry.
Paul will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Family was the most important thing to Paul, and so he naturally took on the roles of father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Anyone who knew Paul knew he was a hard worker through and through. He spent over 50 years as an automotive technician and cherished his Grand Prix – but his dream car was a ’69 Stingray Corvette (candy-apple red, of course!).
Paul will also be remembered for his love of the outdoors, flowers, and his garden; something he looked forward to going home to every day.
The family would like to give special thanks to the 5th floor nurses and staff at the General for their attentive care and keeping Paul comfortable during his final days.
Family and friends are invited to Tubman Funeral Homes – Westboro Chapel, 403 Richmond Road, Ottawa, on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm for a Visitation in Memory.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Paul’s memory are appreciated by the family.
