Patrick Joseph McDonald

With great sadness we announce the passing of Patrick Joseph McDonald on October 14, at the age of 57. Loving husband of Sue and beloved father of Hugh and Catherine. Devoted son of Joan McDonald nee Gourley and Hugh McDonald former councillor of Nepean. He will be fondly remembered by extended family including cousins Mark and Paul McDonald and many friends.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Prince Edward Island University in Charlottetown and Queen’s University at Kingston, Patrick later completed his MBA from the Queen’s School of Business. He contributed to many IT and change management projects in and around Ottawa for a wide variety of government ministries. He was a talented project manager whose drive and intelligence fuelled the success of whatever he took on. HIs unique wit and kindness will be missed by a large network of colleagues in Canada and abroad.

Patrick enjoyed time with family, connecting over a good meal, travel, and his home on the St. Lawrence River.

Those he loved, he loved devotedly and completely. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. Funeral arrangements to follow at a later time.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Patrick’s name to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
