Patricia Ann Troughton (nee Teakle) died unexpectedly on July 1 st having suffered a massive stroke. She graduated from Mount Allison University in 1951. The next fall, she attended McGill University and obtained her teaching certificate. It was there that she met Jack and they were married in 1955. In 1968, when they moved to Ottawa, she planned to return to teaching but was diverted by abundant volunteer opportunities that interested her. For the next twenty five years, she was an active and happy volunteer at the The National Gallery and The Museum of Civilization where she taught school children the beauty of art and the richness of Canada. In addition, she was active in the University Women's Club of Ottawa and May Court. In latter years, she enjoyed many afternoons of bridge with her friends that she had met through those organizations. She loved people and was adored by everyone she met. Her marriage to Jack was one of teamwork and hospitality, as I am sure their many friends can attest to. In addition to her two children, Christopher (Natalie Jack) and Jennifer, she has two grandchildren, Kayla and Travis, whom she loved deeply. Visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd, Nepean, on Monday, July 10 th from 11:30 until service time in the chapel at 1 pm. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa University Women's Club Scholarship Fund or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
