Peter Ross Duncanson

Veteran WWII, Retired - Duplate Auto Glass Oshawa

On January 6, 2016, Ross Duncanson passed away peacefully with his two loving daughters at his side at the age of 91 years. Beloved husband of the late Jean (nee Hanna). Loving father of Linda Gorman and Mary Waszczuk and her husband Henry. Proud and cherished grandfather of Lindsay and Brent Sloan, Michael and Margaret Waszczuk, Neil Gorman and Jessica and Matthew Bean, great-grandfather of Peyton and Brooke Sloan and Jeremy and Delilah Waszczuk. Ross was looking forward to baby Bean’s arrival in March. Dear brother of the late Mae Pound and Uncle Ross to Sharon and Doug Larson, Brian and Lorraine Pound, and BeeGee Pennyway of Vancouver. Ross belonged to the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals as a dispatch rider during World War II and proudly served in France, Belgium and Holland. Ross was a longtime resident of Oshawa, active in coaching the Oshawa Thistle Soccer Club and the Woodview Park girls’ baseball team. Ross was the consummate football and baseball fan. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Empress Kanata Retirement Home and the Queensway Carleton Hospital for their care and kindness. A Service Celebrating Ross's life will be held at Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, on Monday, January 11, 2016 in the Chapel at 1:00 pm, followed by a reception at the funeral home. As requested by Ross, his urn will buried beside his beloved Jean in Oshawa later this summer. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ross's memory to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
