DUCHARME, Norman MacDonald (Normie) B Econ - It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Norman at Thorncliffe Place Retirement Residence, Ottawa, Ontario, at the age of 77. Devoted and beloved son of the late Dorothy Marion Ducharme (née MacDonald) and Armand Joseph Ducharme. Predeceased by his sister Daphne Ducharme. He is survived by his brother Malcolm Ducharme (Carol). Predeceased by his uncle Norman “Bobby” H. MacDonald (Kay), and loving Aunt Jeanne F. Fuller (Tom). Survived by MacDonald first cousins Sandy, Jamie, Celia, the late Danny, Laurie, Katrina & Mary Anne. Survived by Fuller first cousins Tommy, Tory, Bill, Mark, Tony & Simon with numerous 2nd and 3rd cousins in both families. Norman attended Lisgar Collegiate & Bishop’s University where he was on the ski and football teams. He was an avid member of the Britannia Yacht Club and enjoyed sailing his Flying Dutchman in national and international competitions. He loved skiing at Camp Fortune with his friends and family. Norman lived in Brockville for many years and returned to Ottawa in 2020.
Friends may pay respects at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd., Ottawa on Monday 3rd of February 2025, from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am. Private interment Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Colin Blandy Fund at the Britannia Yacht Club.
A kind special soul that left an indelible mark on many people. Whose spirit is now free. Rest in Peace, Normie.
