Nellie Pietje Jansen

Peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones, in her 88th year our beloved wife, mother, and grandma went to be with her Lord.

Beautiful wife of Keimpe Jansen for 65 years. Nellie was born in Donkerbroek, Netherlands, as the eldest of 10 children. She emigrated with her family to Canada in 1952, where she met the love of her life, Keimpe, and married him in 1956.

Loving mother to Edward Jansen (Anne Maier), Angela Gervais (late John), and Terrence Jansen. Adored grandma to Melissa and Chris Jansen (Lindsey Thomson), Jesse and Stephanie Gervais, and great grandma to Carter and Lincoln Jansen.

She will be greatly missed by her siblings Corrie Ballard (late Delmer), Shirley Archer (William), Margaret Hoekstra (Gerry), Marcel Veenstra (Lena) and brother-in law Sid Jansen (Susan Pranger) and by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Jan Veenstra and Pietje Veenstra de Vegt, brothers Fred, Jan, John (late Linda), sisters Tina Pos (Hans), and Rose McKenzie (Skip) and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jetty and Cor Hogeveen.  .

She was an accomplished knitter, baker, terrific gardener, and took great joy in her charity work. She also volunteered at Viewmount Homes for many years.

Memorial service at Calvin Christian Reformed Church, 1475 Merivale Rd, Tuesday March 29. Visiting 10-11am, service at 11am.
