It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Nancy Chambers on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital. Nancy was the beloved wife and best friend of William (Bill) Chambers for 50 years, having shared many memories together since 1965. She was the most loving mother to Christine (Jon) Maxwell. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren Sadie, Owen, Everlee, and Poppy. Dear sister of Brian Grant (Tushara Willams) and predeceased by her parents Gerald and Lillian (Booth) Grant.

Nancy proudly worked by her parents’ side at the insurance company that they worked so hard to establish. She later became a dedicated public servant, spending 35 years at Transport Canada working her way from a clerk to a financial analyst. Never afraid of hard work, Nancy worked tirelessly on her part time studies to attain her goal of earning a college diploma in Financial Studies.

Nancy was nurturing to those lucky enough to be close to her. She would always root for the underdog and never missed an opportunity to help someone in need. She has been a loving example to her grandchildren with whom her caring and generous nature will live on.

As a child, Nancy gained so much from the Girl Guides of Canada she later dedicated many of her adult and senior years as a volunteer helping shape the next generation of strong women. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by a large circle of extended family and friends.

Friends and family may pay their respects at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 1 p.m. until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Queensway Carleton Hospital.
