Nancy Bushell passed away peacefully on March 6, 2021 in Ottawa. She was born in Fort Qu’Appelle Saskatchewan on November 20, 1925 to Godfrey Maurice Bushell and Sybil Fields Bushell (nee Gibson). She was pre-deceased by her older brother, Squadron Leader Chistopher (Kit) Bushell of the RCAF in 1941. Her careers in occupational therapy and accountancy took her to the University of Toronto, Camp Hill Hospital in Halifax, St. Walburg and Regina.
Once retired, she married Clair Gleddie of Ottawa and moved to Ottawa in 2002. She is remembered by her cousins as “one of the prettiest relatives one could have!” Nancy had a lovely smile and enjoyed travel, loved to laugh, golf, and enjoyed a glass of wine with good friends. She will be missed by her cousins, her step-children, step-grandchildren and many friends in Canada and relatives in England. Her family would like to thank her long-time caregiver and friend Violeta Penaflor and all the wonderful staff at Amica Westboro Park.
A memorial service will be held at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road (at Roosevelt), on Wednesday, March 17th at 7 p.m. Due to the current COVID restrictions, attendance is limited and pre-registration is required and can be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com/Nancy-Bushell. Interment will be held in Fort Qu’Apelle later in the summer or early fall. Condolences, tributes and donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
