Moira Couper
January 16, 1925 – December 9, 2013
Moira Couper passed away peacefully at Granite Ridge in Stittsville with her famly at her side on December 9th, 2013. Moira was a resident of Ottawa, Kingston, Bath, London, Bayfield, Hensall, and Mitchell Ontario with her husband Archie who passed away in 1999.
Born in Takapuna, New Zealand, her life took her to England, Australia, and later to Canada. Her parents Theodora and Glenton Hunt predeceased her in New Zealand.
Moira was an avid writer, student, and educator and graduated from University of Waterloo and received her Master's in Adult Education from the University of Southern Main in 1996.
In the early 1990's Archie and Moira joined the Baha’i faith and became part of the Baha’i community in Perth and then Bath Ontario. After Archie's death, Moira moved to Ottawa and became part of the community here.
Moira will be greatly missed by her children Janet, Donald, Margaret, and Andrew; daughters- in- law Dorothy and Yoshiko; grandchildren Jimi, Naanasee, Ian, Barbara, Thomas, Jesse, Amane, and Maaya; great grandchildren Jakob, Faith, Linus, and Louise, and by her sister Gillian in New Zealand. She will be fondly remembered by Victoria, Lewis, Anne Rose and Pierrette
Friends and family can join in a celebration of her life and passing at Tubman Funeral Home, 3440 Richmond Rd., Nepean ON, at 5:00 PM on December 12.
