Miroslawa Wernik

February 11, 1950 — November 21, 2022

It is with great sadness that the Wernik family announces the sudden passing of Mira Wernik, nee Jankiewicz, on November 21, 2022.

She leaves behind husband Marek, sons Christopher, Jacob, and Bartosz, her dearest grandsons Max and William, and daughters-in-law Lisanne and Ashley.

Mira came to Canada from Poland in 1984 and studied at Carleton University to gain her degree in Social Work. She worked at the City of Ottawa until her retirement in 2015.

She dedicated her life to her family and there was nothing more important than spending time with her grandsons. She had a big, open heart, and her greatest joy was to give, share, and help those who needed support. Mira liked traveling, cooking polish dishes, golfing, and meeting with friends.

She will be missed by her family, friends, and those unnamed who she has been supporting through her life.

A funeral service will be held at the Holy Redeemer church in Kanata on Tuesday, November 29th at 11:00 am. Immediately following the service will be a procession to Pinecrest Cemetery for burial.
