Passed away peacefully at the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Care Center on September 7th, 2013. Born in Chorlton-Cum-Hardy Manchester, England on July 18th, 1919. Mil met, and married the love of her life, late husband John "Jack" Phillips while still residing in England. Shortly thereafter, with thousands of other war brides, Mil made the month long journey to Canada to begin her new life. Sons Robert (Katrina), Brian (Ann), Barrie (Elaina) and Peter (Yvonne) followed, along with many cherished family pets. Mil dedicated many years teaching at Fairfield Public School and Elmira Dow Billings Public School, touching the lives of many children and those around her. She will be sadly missed by grandchildren Matthew, Dallas, Shaun, Rachel, Troy and Amanda and also niece Jenny Ghazilian and nephew Christopher Ghazilian(England). Mil will be dearly missed by daughter in-law Margaret Mason. Friends and family may visit at the Carp Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 115 Rivington St, Carp on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Carp Chapel on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Donations may be made in Mildred's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. Mil, a true Lancashire lass, will join her beloved husband Jack, where they will continue to walk hand in hand as they did throughout their lifetime together.
