It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Michael John Atwood. He was born September 11, 1943. He died peacefully in his sleep at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on January 9, 2021 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia which he was battling with since 2012. He passed in the presence of his devoted and loving wife, Kathe (nee Pritchard) of 49 years, his daughter, Karen (Peter) and his grandson, Michael.

In 1983 Michael left his government position as a Chartered Accountant to open is own accounting firm in Ottawa. He loved his chosen career. He was devoted to his clients and always treated them with respect and cared for them on a personal level.

He was a gentleman, who was very content just spending quiet time at home with his family. His passion was his work and his love was his family. Michael will be dearly missed by his family, friends and clients.

At Michael’s request, cremation will take place. Due to COVID-19 a memorial service will take place at a later date.
