Mary Wilson

Mary Komesch (nee Wilson), 97, peacefully on April 4,2018. Survived by her husband of 74 years, Dr. Daniel Komesch of the Perley Rideau, sons, Donald of Ottawa and Ronald (Lucy) residing in Mexico. Also survived by her sister Doris (Denis) of Montreal, grandchildren Carrie (Adam Coombs), Daniel, Jason, their mother Kathy and great-granddaughter Sadie. She was predeceased by her siblings, Nellis, Nettie, Eddie, Ella and Etna. Mary will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends around the country.Born in Limerick, Sask, Mary resided in Toronto before making Ottawa her permanent residence in 1950, then later Manotick. Mary always led an active life and enjoyed the outdoors, especially summers at her chalet. She was a past President of the Ladies Curling Assoc, played a mean round of golf, skied both locally and in Europe and won lots of quarters from her bridge club ladies. Mary was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star and gave back to her community serving on the Outreach Committee of the Manotick United Church.We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of the caring staff at Longfields Manor who assisted in Mary's care over the past 6 years and helped to make Parkview her home. A celebration of Mary's life will take place at the Manotick United Church on Friday, April 20, 2018. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. and reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name can be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Manotick United Church or a charity of your choice.
