SUTHERLAND, Marlene Mae (nee Barkley)

Passed away quietly on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from complications due to Alzheimers. Marlene was pre-deceased by her parents Willis and Leona Barkley, sisters Marion Woods, Beverly Ault, Shirley Sparks and Elaine Stitt, her beloved husband Bill, son Dan and grand-daughter Gennifer.  She leaves to mourn her loss daughter Lori (Dave) Staerkle, grandson Alex, brother Wayne (Carolyn) Barkley, sisters Linda (Ronnie) Casselman and Joanne (Larry) Cook, sister-in-law Margaret Danis, numerous nieces and nephews, Nan's sweet girl Shannon (John) Leighton and their children Brooke, Austyn and Kayleigh, and many friends.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Carleton Lodge's Rideau Village and Nepean Village for taking such great care of Marlene for the last four years.

At Marlene's request, there will be no funeral service.  Burial will take place a St Lawrence Valley Cemetery in Ingleside on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
