Marjorie Fraser

September 30, 1935 — June 12, 2018

Marjorie Eleanor Fraser (nee Fisher)

Sept 30-1935 to June 12 -2018

Uncharacteristically quietly, Marjorie slipped away after a long life full of music and family. Marjorie follows her husband and one love, Maynard, into the next world. Marjorie will be fondly remembered by her 6 children: Valerie, Cathy (Mitch), Janet (Christopher), Patty (Robert), Marie (Ian), and Reg (Marie-Christine); her grandchildren: Claire, Shona, Madeleine, Caitlyn, Laura, Elizabeth, Jesse, Awstin, Rhys, Blake, Bryn, Félix, and Anouk; and her great-grandson Shaefer, as well as by countless extended family.

Marjorie’s lifelong passion for singing took her to halls across Canada and abroad. While she chose family over a professional singing career, her contributions to church and secular choirs, including the Cantata Singers of Ottawa, Musica Viva, and the NAC Opera chorus, will be remembered by many. Her volunteer work at Roger Neilson House and the Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre touched both staff and clients. Thanks to the staff and volunteers at Garry J Armstrong Long Term Care Residence and special thanks to Donna and Christina, Marjorie's dedicated Personal Support Workers who stayed by her side to the end.
