Dion, Marion Isobel (née Smith)

August 27, 1923 – February 23, 2022

Passed away suddenly in her retirement home in Orleans ON at the age of 98.  Marion was born in Ottawa and grew up in Maryland QC with her parents Stephen and Mary Smith (O’Byrne) and 3 brothers and sisters that have all passed.  She was the youngest of her family.

She married in 1947 to her beloved husband of almost 44 years, Leopold “Leo” Dion until he passed in 1991.  They raised 5 children Frank (Barbara), Mary, Leo (Jennifer), Murray (Lynn), and Shawn (Caroline) in their home in Gatineau, QC.

In addition to her 5 children, she leaves behind many grandchildren Tracey (Christopher), Christian (Tracy), Stephen (Andrea), Shannon (Marc), Nicolas (Erin), Jason (Fiona), Andrée (Paul), Keenan, and Kristen.  Great grandchildren Jack, William, Samantha, Mason, Carter, Freya, Declan, Ryan, Logan, Callum, Etta, Claire, and Thomas.  And lots of fond memories.

Visitation will be held at the Tubman Funeral Homes -Garden Chapel (3440 Richmond Road) on Sunday, February 27th from 12pm to 1pm. Funeral service will take place in the chapel at 1pm. Reception to follow.

She will be sorrowfully missed.
