Seabrook, Marilyn Louisa
(nee Murphy)
All of a sudden life just became a little less fun. Peacefully in hospital on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the age of 75, we lost an amazing mother, wife and friend. Beloved wife and caregiver for 49 years to Douglas Armstrong Seabrook. She will be missed terribly, by her daughter Shannon Seabrook who was so lucky to have her as a role model. Dear sister of Bernadette (Stanley) Robillard. Predeceased by her 1 brother and 10 sisters.
Whether volunteering in elementary school or attending class road trips, she was a second mom to many. Marilyn was known to be a socialite and enjoyed drinks and dinners with friends, being excited to mention that friends had been over, and they all danced on her back patio. Marilyn spent every Friday night with Doug (it was their date night which both vowed to never be apart). Typically, it was spent at Al’s Steakhouse amongst entertaining company. Although Marilyn grew up in the city, she met Doug and moved out to the country to farm. She loved watching the coyotes, foxes and wild turkeys from her chair. Over the years she enjoyed weekends away, trips to the casino, Florida, the cottage and glowed in the kitchen with her cooking and baking skills. She truly enjoyed her little chats with her favourite niece Pauli. Never met a chocolate bar she didn’t like as her sweet tooth was a daily must. At Marilyn’s request, there will be no funeral.
Raise a glass with Marilyn with your favorite drink as she is finally well rested! In memory of Marilyn, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Tubman Funeral Homes and condolences and donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
