Marilyn Ann Murray
February 3, 1940 – December 28, 2021
Marilyn passed away in hospital on Tuesday, December 28. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ron, her beloved children Susan (David Clarke), David (Tracy), and her three adored grandchildren, Matthew Clarke, Patrick Murray, Jessica Murray and her dear sister, Noreen Leblanc.
Marilyn’s great love was her family. Many happy times were spent on family camping trips, usually to provincial campgrounds, although it must be said that Marilyn’s idea of “camping” was in a comfortable trailer with all the conveniences.
Later family gatherings took place at their lakeside cottage where Marilyn could occasionally be found exercising her athletic “skills” on the local golf course.
In the early years of their marriage, Marilyn worked as a legal secretary, however, with the arrival of children, Marilyn chose to spend the next dozen years as a full time mom. Marilyn was a person of deep faith with a strong commitment to helping others, and as she contemplated a transition back to the workforce, she sought to use her time and talents in a meaningful way. As it so happened at this time, the position of Parish Secretary at All Saints Anglican Church (Westboro) beckoned and she was selected for this role. For the next 21 years Marilyn served as part of the ministry team as parish secretary/office administrator, volunteer coordinator, patient listener and guide.
Due to Covid restrictions a private family service will be held at Tubman Funeral Homes Garden Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Persons wishing to make a memorial donation may consider Plan International, Operation Smile or other charity of your choice.
