DOUGLAS, Marie-Claire

(née Salathé)

Died quietly in Ottawa on December 13, 2016. Born in 1936 in France, she came to Canada with her beloved husband John A. Vibert Douglas (deceased). Loving mother of Paul, Marianne (Chad Gubala) and Alexander (deceased), Marie-Claire will be deeply missed by her family and many close friends. Survived in France by the extensive families of her brother Jean Fred (Marie-Claire) Salathé and deceased siblings Christiane (Marc) Hollard, Pâquerette (Charles) Barbe and Jean Paul (Margreet) Salathé. In Canada she leaves behind sister-in-law Mary C. Vibert Douglas and the extended family of brother-in-law G. Patrick Vibert Douglas (Audrey). In Ottawa her departure will be profoundly felt by dear friends Heather (née Schneider) and Keith Guild who lovingly cared for her in their home. The family wishes to thank the staff and health care personnel of the CCAC and Villagia (formerly The Palisades) for their contributions to her care. Memorial donations may be made to the Ottawa Food Bank or Parkinson Canada. A memorial service is being planned for within the early months of the New Year.
