Margaret Hinchliffe

Margaret died at her home at RiverPark Place, on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at the age of 97 years. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 13, 1918 to the late Marie and Arthur Hinchliffe. Margaret was the treasured and devoted wife of the late Ernie (George Ernest) for sixty-four and a half years. She was the loving and loved mother of the late Robert Owen Sanders. Margaret leaves to mourn her god-daughters Linda Robbins (Ottawa) and Brenda Phillips (Barbados), as well as several cousins and many cherished friends. With Ernie, Margaret was a faithful and longtime member of St-Matthias Anglican Church in Ottawa. Margaret had wonderful memories of happy years with Ernie and Robert at the cottage Ernie built for them on Christie Lake. Margaret also served the Girl Guides of Canada for 60 years and was a member of the Trefoil Guild. Visitation for Margaret will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 10 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment to take place following the service at Capital Memorial Gardens where Margaret will be reunited with her parents, husband and son. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Saint's Westboro Parish or the charity of your choice. Margaret enriched our lives and we will miss her. Thanks to the staff at RiverPark Place and to the case managers at CCAC and their workers for their kind service over the years.
